Tech Interview Podcast: David Cohn of Regroup Therapy

Podcast #7 of 50 tech startup interviews. As a person dedicated to positive change, Regroup Therapy spoke to me. If you're a woman who has just given birth, or know a woman who has, this company should be particularly great.

More on David Cohn

David Cohn, born outside Chicago, has developed his career focusing principally on the strategic management challenges of Senior Leadership at leading organizations across Europe, Latin America and North America and in parallel co-managing his own company, which merges technology with mental health care.

He developed much of his corporate career in the Corporate Executive Board (Washington, DC), as Sales and Service Director of Latin America, Spain and Portugal in the IT Practice. Before that, he served for 2.5 years in Guatemala with the US Peace Corps. During his time there, Mr. Cohn helped rural communities develop technology and business skills.

David graduated from the Colorado College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He has an International MBA (finishing in the top quarter of his class) from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain (currently ranked in the top 10 programs worldwide).

More on Regroup Therapy

1 in 5 women suffers from mood or anxiety disorders either during or after pregnancy. Regroup therapy helps these ladies through group meetings over the internet (using a skype tool). Participants meet with a small group of 6-8 other ladies going through the same experience. Though they just launched several months ago, they're already helping around 1,000 users.

Group therapy helps their clients connect with other mothers who face a similar situation in the comfort of their own home. This is also extremely helpful because many mothers don't have childcare options or don't have the energy to leave their homes.

While not revolutionary, the process of group therapy over Skype is very new to me. It's positive and beneficial, and has the opportunity to save lives.
